The original Share Recordings Modal made a simple task, like sharing a link, more complicated than it needed to be. I redesigned it to make sharing fast, intuitive, and effortless for users.

Problem

The original Share Recordings modal was clunky. Users had to jump through unnecessary hoops, like entering names and emails, before they could even copy a video recording link.

Key features were hard to find, the layout felt confusing and overwhelming, and overall, it was just not a good experience. With lots of complaints coming in, our challenge was clear:

Solution

I teamed up with a Senior Product Designer to rethink the Share Recordings Modal, with a focus on making sharing faster and easier. Together, we:

Conducted user interviews to uncover frustrations and validate pain points.

Explored 15–20 different modal layouts, iterating based on feedback from users, PMs, and design leadership.

Simplified link generation, added a quick-copy link button, and brought key features to the surface for faster access.

Designed a branched modal for internal and external sharing options.

Final modal designs and breakdown.

Impact

The redesign made sharing recordings way easier. Users abandoned tasks less often and noted how simple it was to copy and share links. The final modal created a faster, more intuitive workflow while putting key features front and center.
